Special Occasion Foils, How we do it

These special Occasion Foils have really caught on, the past two days has been non-stop. The 36″ foils are pre-printed with the 6 different designs and stored flat in large plan files. The personalization was then added afterwards with vinyl. This option was timely and plotters are not cheap, we looked at buying another plotter but a decent one will cost about £3000+. We now screen print the personalization onto each foil, its quicker, easier and since we produce about 80 screen per week the cost is about 19p per screen

An acetate is placed in position. The RDS edge is taped to the bed allowing us to move when required but then always returning to the same position

The screen is then married up to the acetate. The acetate has bold black lines printed onto it. These lines represent the print area for each of the six different designs

The pre-printed Special Occasion Foil is then place on the bed, the acetate moved back into position. The foil is then lined up with the acetate to give us the correct printing position

The correct colour ink is the applied to the screen and primed

The ink is then pulled through the screen and the personalization added

After the required amount has been printed for each order the next screen is locked into place and another order is ready to print

Each foil after printing is placed on to a drying rack for about 2 hrs, then dispatched. As you can see it's been a busy day for Special Occasion Foils. These orders are now ready for dispatch to various balloon companies throughout the UK and the USA

Any Special Occasion Foils that are ordered for overseas use are shipped via Airsure which takes about 5 days. The past few days with the volcanic ash cloud have been a bit testing but all the orders got through in the end
