HOW DID IT ALL START
I have run my own Balloon Decorating Company for the past 21 years and have enjoyed every minute of it, stressful at times but I can’t remember a day when I’ve not enjoyed myself. Being the longest established Balloon Decorating Company in Coventry and Warwickshire you find your self at the fore front of many new ideas. My first balloon printing machine was purchased in 2001 and a second followed very soon after, both machines are identical and we specialise in trade balloon printing offer a very quick turn-a-round for balloon companies all over the United Kingdom and beyond, I can even boast clients in New York, Los Angeles and Australia. We have a reputation that goes before us and strive to meet every deadline that it put before us no matter how tight, often burning the midnight oil to get those balloons printed on time, everytime.
Whilst conquering the latex balloon printing we had many clients ask if we could also print foil balloons, it was not just a few who asked but hundreds so I took the plunge, did my research and then purchased a suitable machine and now find myself busier that ever and with the help of a very trusted and enthusiastic workforce tackle each job with professionalism and dedication. So there you have it from balloon decorating to balloon screen printing ,its been my life for the past 21 years and so on to the next project….. Special Occasion Foils.
It was back in October 2008 I found myself hand writing two 36″ foil hearts with the names of the Bride and Groom on in a glitter pen, it looked OK but it did not create the WOW Factor I strive for. Now I come from a very artistic family and my Mother is a professional artist and she’s good, she’s even had painting stolen which is one of her claims to fame quoting ” My painting are good enough to be stolen, it puts me up there with the finest” and that’s not bad for some one who’s in her 80th year, so I asked her to set about and create some original artwork. The first two designs I rejected so she fell out with me and we did not speak for a week but she then produced a third design and it was perfect, just what I had been looking for and all hand drawn and original, it was then scanned in to a computer and transposed onto a large 30″ x 40″ silk screen and printed onto 36″ jumbo foils
The Bride and Grooms names are then plotted on to the foils when required. I then contacted Pioneer Europe who are the manufactures of these foils ( that’s Qualatex to us guys in the industry) who immediately dispatched their most trusted of representatives Mark Drury for a closer inspection. After close deliberation a big cheesy grin appeared across Mr Drury’s face and those words he uttered I will never forget ” Matt, Its fantastic, its just what this industry has been waiting for, what next!.” Since then Special Occasion Foils has moved from strength to strength, 3 more designs were commisioned and the portfolio now consists of Wedding Foils, Christening Foils, Confirmation Foils, 1st Holy Communion Foils, with Birthday, Anniversary and Valentines to be launched on the new Special Occasion Foils online ordering website later next month.
